Martha Stewart's Cooking School -- Book Review Prelude

Martha Stewart's Coooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook will be the first cookbook I will use as I start my journey into perfecting my culinary skills. The reason I choose this particular book is because it probably has more detail instruction pictures than any other cookbook I have ever seen...EVER SEEN!!!! The pictures below are just a few examples.

I have tried one meat recipe from this cookbook. The recipe I tried was the Roast Chicken. This was my first home roasted chicken and it came out beautifully, but more importantly it tasted good. This was a piece of meat that I would proudly serve to guests.

Each chapter in this cookbook represents a different catergory in food, including, but not limited to what kitchen tools and pantry items are essential, eggs, meats, and desserts. I will start this book from the second chapter (the first is on the kitchen essentials, which I did read) and work my way through all of the recipes that require me to use new techniques or cooking methods, or uses an ingredient that I have never used previously.

My first initial impression of this book is to give it my highest rating, which is five stars. The reason I am giving it such a high rating is because the instructions seem clear and concise, the visual recipes and other diagrams are extremely helpful for new cooks, and it is logically organized. We will see if it loses any stars as we progress through the recipes.
I will, of course, go off schedule every now and then to try a seasonal recipe that can't wait or to do a recipe from one of my favorite blogs, but I will share those also.
'Til then....
